We were proud to put on the 2nd annual celebration of International Women’s Day on Sunday, March 8, 2015! It was a resounding success that combined community, arts, performance, food and international recognition and honoring of women all in one great night. The Record Searchlight covered the event and made the celebration their front page story of the next day’s paper! We are so grateful to all of the community members that put time and effort into making this event such a success! We had a executive planning committee made up of amazing powerhouse women who made ideas and plans a reality and put so much effort into getting food, decorations, setup, cleanup. We want to recognize Viva Downtown for sponsoring International Women’s Day and making it possible for us to hold our event in the gorgeous Atrium in downtown Redding. We want to thank DJ Rez Dog for donating his services to allow our music, performances and MCs to be heard! Our performers continued the Redding International Women’s Day tradition of getting the audience up and moving and we are so grateful to all of them for sharing their culture, music, dance and passion with us.
The Network is excited to bring the 2nd annual International Women’s Day to Redding on Sunday, March 8th! Here’s our IWD Executive Committee from the meeting on Tuesday!
